The Bussey Law Firm P.C. Will Fight for You to Protect You
Timothy R. Bussey is the lawyer other lawyers request when they need to learn innovative trial tactics and techniques.

Mr. Bussey has taken over 100 cases to trial before judges, juries, and courts-martial. This is more than a statistic, since today's bar is loaded with attorneys who seem to avoid the courtroom at any cost. Granted, negotiating favorable dispositions is an important part of an injury lawyer's job.

When casework becomes routine or repetitive, one response attorneys can take is to mechanize their practice or perform half-heartedly. A much better response, and one that Mr. Bussey has chosen, is to use his experience as an opportunity for exploring new strategic ground.

Despite the demands of a busy legal practice, Mr. Bussey remains highly energetic and values spending time with his family, including coaching his children’s junior basketball teams.

Experience & Education

Mr. Bussey earned his undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Iowa College of Business in 1988, where he was awarded an Air Force ROTC Scholarship and inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1991. He was admitted to practice law in Illinois that same year and later in Colorado in 1994.

With over 25 years of legal experience, Mr. Bussey understands that accident cases are not fought in isolation. Year by year, trends emerge across different legal subfields and jurisdictions, shaping how cases are approached and litigated. Mr. Bussey is a frequent speaker at local and state Continuing Legal Education seminars and meetings and is often sought out by other attorneys for his insight into innovative trial tactics and techniques. On a national level, he has also spoken at the American Chemical Society National Meeting.
